The Cody Chronicles
My daughter, Ivana, and I (Sharon Doubek) were introduced to Cody in April 2004 by Denise O. My daughter was having some difficulty at school at the time and needed a way to channel her engery in a positive way. She had been taking riding lessons at Fremont Hills for several years but wanted a horse she could call her own. Denise knew Cody was a rescue horse who needed TLC and thought he would be a good match for Ivana. We leased Cody for a few months then purchased him in January 2005. He and Ivana spent many hours teaching each other to trust and to not be afraid to try new things. Ivana trained Cody to go over jumps and to behave properly on trail rides with other horses. It was a labor of love for both of them.
Sue, Gypsy and Rico
Sue Winslow is leasing two horses at PageMill Pastures. I like Western trail riding and have been having a great time with the wonderful people at PageMill. I love riding in the Ranch pastures, riding the trails adjacent to the Ranch and trailering the horses to local parks and the beach.
The Blonde One and Noel
I have owned "The Blonde One", Mineral's Flaxen Athena, or "Blondie" as she is known to most people at the ranch now for several years. I'd never owned a gaited morgan before I got her, and it has been one of the most interesting odysseys I have ever embarked on in all my years of owning horses. I'd never owned a gaited horse, let alone knew how to ask them for gait or if I even wanted a gaited horse. She sort of "fell into my lap" and I've never looked back although in the early days I often wondered what the heck I was doing (especially when training her to turn her gait "on/off" on command). She is an absolute joy to own, and the most athletic, opinionated, intelligent, and versatile horse I've ever ridden but sometimes
Bob and Marcy
I own my young gelding Paint "Mikey", while Marcy leases her Arab gelding
"Jerrico", aka "JerriCola", therefore "Cola". I spent nearly 30 years in Hi Tech Manufacturing before moving to an "encore" career at Stanford - getting paid to do my hobby as a Webmaster in the School of Engineering. Marcy manages a large group of Business Analysts at Silicon Valley Bank.
